5 Songs That Keep Me Fired Up And Motivated

When you’re feeling down and out, considering giving up, or not so energetic, music has the power to kick your ass back into gear.

It’s like having your hair set on fire, or smelling the burning smell of your food cooking. You’d immediately react and have the motivation to do something about it.

That’s what music does for me, and I love that. (I’m listening to it right now)

Here are 5 songs that keep me fired up and motivated to get shit done.

1. Chamillionaire – I’m On It

“Life is what you make of it. Don’t make excuses – make it happen.” – Chamillionaire

I’ve been listening to Chamillionaire for 5 – 7 years now.

This song keeps me fired up and motivated because the theme of the song is about hustling and putting in the work.

It’s so easy to just sit around, lay around, watch too much TV, and aimlessly browse Facebook profiles.

It’s so easy to just hang around on street corners, be lazy, do little to no work and make excuses. But that has no real pay off.

Putting in the work, getting your priorities straight, and being productive as you can be is what it’s all about. And not just being productive, but taking action on tasks that move you forward.

That’s what this song does for me. Here’s a lyric I love from the chorus –

Hustle all night hustle all day, I’m about to lose my mind trying to get my life straight.

2. Snow Tha Product – Cash Rules

“Hate is the cheapest hobby you can have” – Snow Tha Product

I only started listening to Snow Tha Product a year ago. And I’m glad I did.

This song keeps me pumped up and motivated because of how authentic, raw, and straightforward the content is.

The theme focuses on the thoughts of the average person when it comes to money. And how money basically makes the world go around.

It’s a good song to get the energy flowing. Here’s one of my favorite lyrics from it –

What are we even here for? My generation is lame, so you start like
Dear Lord, please help me to get some change.
I need some cash, I need it fast, I need a job that I like
I’m a need someone on my bed that’ll make me feel it’s alright.

3. Chamillionaire – Denzel Washington

“You have to wait to achieve greatness.” – Chamillionaire

Again, this songs theme for me is about staying focused, and not allowing the naysayers and negative people to get in your way.

It’s about staying committed to your hustle, your craft, and your priorities. Something many people aren’t good at doing because –

  • It’s common to allow naysayers to bring you down.
  • It’s common to allow negative people to influence your decisions.
  • It’s common to be easily distracted from your goals. (I know this personally)
  • It’s common lack the confidence to make your own decisions and believe in what you do.

This song is a good reminder of those facts. And keeps me motivated, driven and determined to go do what I’ve got to do. Drive is so important!

4. Salt n Pepa – Good Life

“Change is not an event, it’s a process.” – Cheryl James

I’ve only started to listen to Salt n Pepa the past few years when I was looking for new music to listen to.

The theme behind this song is self explanatory – living the good life. This song gets me motivated and inspired because of the lyrical content and the whole theme behind “living a good life”.

That’s what I work for. That’s what I aim for. That’s what I’m committed to. And a “good life” in its self is a worthy goal.

Of course what a good life means to me will mean something different for you.

Gold and platinum albums bought me gold and platinum credit cards
I work hard, and now I’m living large, caviar, fast cars.
Living lavishly, this has to be a dream
Then again I think not, I bust my ass to get the cream.

5. Chingy – Lets Ride

Some people think its just fun and games and others don’t know how much I pushed to get here. They have to be in my shoes, but by listening to my music they can find out. – Chingy

I’ve been listening to Chingy for as long as I can remember. Since I was in my late high school years actually.

This song gets me motivated and pumped up because It’s a fun, party, move-your-feet type of song. Something that gets your head moving and your body moving.

If you listen to any of the songs I’ve put in this post, I’d say listen to this one without a doubt. This is the type of song you’d hear in a club. And no, I don’t do clubbing.

Now I’ve shown you the 5 songs that keep me fired up and motivated, tell me – what song keeps you motivated?
